Cyprus History

Cyprus History

The history of Cyprus is one of the oldest in the world and dates back to the 7th century B/C. The arrival of the Mycenaean Greeks at first, followed by the Achaean Greeks has given Cyprus the typical Greek character. The Island has four major cities, Nicosia as the Island's Capital, then Larnaca as the Island's main airport, than Limassol as the Islands main seaport and with Paphos as the Island's youngest and fastest growing city.

Paphos enjoys the best climate and has the majority of archaeology on the island. With the nature reserve 'The Akamas' at its doorstep, Paphos has become the most interesting town. The People of Cyprus are a mixture of many trading nations on the Mediterranean. People are open, frank and friendly to foreigners. They are astute businessmen too. They will extend a warm welcome to you, always making you feel at home on the island.
